In this USO Bright Minds STEM activity, kids will design and build aluminum foil boats to see how much weight they can hold before sinking! Through hands-on experimentation, participants will explore buoyancy, density, and engineering design while testing different boat shapes and sizes to discover what floats best.
This fun challenge encourages creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork while helping kids learn how boats can float even while carrying heavy cargo.
This program is geared toward elementary school–aged kids (activities are typically designed for 2nd–4th grade), and we hope to see your curious-minded little ones there!
