Fort Irwin USO Bright Minds: Stem Program

This event last took place on Feb 18th, 2026
3:00 PM PST (1500U)

In February, USO Bright Minds will dive into the science of buoyancy with our Sink the Marshmallow Challenge! Participants will experiment with different materials and methods to try to make a marshmallow sink — a fun, hands-on way to explore density, forces, and how objects interact with liquids. Along the way, kids will make predictions, test their ideas, and problem-solve like real scientists!

This engaging activity blends science, creativity, and teamwork while encouraging curiosity about how the world works around us.

This program is geared toward elementary school–aged kids (activities are typically designed for 2nd–4th grade), and we’d love to see your curious-minded little ones there!

Please register your child for this event as space is limited.
